Balthazar’s London Debut

A London branch of Keith McNally’s famous, and very successful, New York brasserie is making its way across the pond to set up shop in the former Theatre Museum in Covent Garden. Recognised as the Flower Cellars of Covent Garden, this distinctive site for Balthazar’s London branch is a perfect location for the growing culinary institution. The few details shared on the project reveal that the famed restaurateur will be teaming up with Richard Caring who is involved with famous London establishments such as The Ivy, Le Caprice and the Soho House group. The partnership is likely to create a branch of the Parisian-style brasserie that will both resemble and rival the standard of its New York sister, which opened in 1997.

The 150-cover, all day dining experience will suit the late night post-theatre diners who’ll be able to enjoy a classical and wide ranging French brasserie menu including Fruits de Mer and bistro dishes. Like its New York counterpart, Balthazar London will have an adjoining bakery with bread and patisseries made fresh everyday, only adding to the increasing anticipation of its debut.

Launch: February 2013
